Cambodia's exports of tyres to the US

According to data from China Trade Network and U.S. Customs, the first quarter of 2024 witnessed a decline in U.S. imports of semi-steel tyres, with import volume dropping by 10.4% to 41.93 million units compared to the previous year. The import value also fell by 18.2% to $2.536 billion, and the average price per item decreased by 8.7% to $60.49.

 

Out of the top ten countries and regions importing semi-steel tyres to the United States, only Thailand, Vietnam, and Cambodia demonstrated an increase in import volume.

 ●  Thailand experienced a 17.7% increase, reaching import volumes of 10.42 million,

 ●  Vietnam saw a 34.0% rise, reaching import volumes of 4.04 million,

 ●  Cambodia had the most substantial growth at 47.5%, reaching import volumes of 1.92 million.

Conversely, imports from China decreased significantly by 44.1%, dropping from 740,000 to 410,000 units in the same period of 2023.

 

Regarding all-steel tyres, imports from Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, and the Philippines grew by 22.7%, 41.1%, 181.3%, and 23.7%, respectively. Notably, Cambodia ranked first due to its smaller base in the same period of 2023. Imports from China consisted of 460,000 items, marking a decline of 37.8% compared to 730,000 items in the corresponding period of 2023.
