On December 31, 2024, the Indian Ministry of Commerce and Industry announced the initiation of an anti-absorption investigation concerning the anti-dumping case on untreated fumed silica originating in or imported from China. The investigation was launched in response to an application submitted by the Indian company Cabot Sanmar Limited. The objective is to determine whether Chinese producers have absorbed the imposed anti-dumping duties and to assess the impact of such actions. Based on the findings, recommendations may be made to revise the amount or structure of the anti-dumping duties.
