Indonesia's Natural and Mixed Rubber Exports Decrease by 17% in 2024

Indonesia's natural rubber exports have been consistently declining. In the first seven months of 2024, the total export volume of natural rubber (excluding compound rubber) was 897,000 tons, a 17% decrease compared to the same period last year. Of this, the export of standard rubber was 877,000 tons, down 17% year-on-year, while ribbed smoked sheets totaled 21,000 tons, a 13% decrease. The export of latex dropped significantly to just 700 tons, a 72% decrease year-on-year.

 

China remains one of Indonesia's main markets for natural rubber. From January to July, Indonesia exported 71,000 tons of natural rubber to China, a substantial decline of 49% year-on-year. Additionally, the export of mixed rubber to China fell to 8,000 tons, down 33% year-on-year. Overall, in the first seven months of 2024, Indonesia's total export volume of natural and mixed rubber was 905,000 tons, a 17% decrease from the previous year, with exports to China totaling 79,000 tons, a 48% year-on-year decline.
